We are a UK based, independent label specialising in modern jazz. Taking inspiration from classic jazz labels of yesteryear such as Blue Note, Prestige, Riverside, Contemporary and the UK's own Tempo records, we aim to produce recordings that retain the aesthetic of this golden era in music.

In recent times, we have seen many changes in the way people consume music. Streaming and downloads have become commonplace. Whilst we do offer downloads for some of our catalogue, it is our belief that a physical product provides a more satisfying relationship with the music. Every detail of our products are carefully considered with this in mind. Our mission is to release excellent recordings, slowly, to ensure the highest quality of performance, audio and art work possible. It is our hope that each would be a welcome addition to your cd or record collection.

The HBR catalogue contains performances by some of Europe and America's finest jazz musicians, as well as legends such as Cedar Walton and Peter Washington. We hope you enjoy your visit and find some music that will brighten your day and, through repeated listening, days to come.
